Description

Issued as a face veil to disguise the distinctive head and shoulders silhouette. But often seen worn as a scarf before shemaghs gained popularity, especially favoured by Airborne units.

These enjoying a resurgence in popularity as a helmet net for Afghanistan. A green scrim over the desert camouflage cover reduced the visibility of a helmet under bright moonlight.

In use since World War II and still relevant.

Numerous uses including screening, camming weapons and optics, part of a Ghillie suit and the intended personal camouflage.

We’ve seen these shredded with added garnish to provide prepared cam for belt kit or helmet. Measures approximately 140 x 140cm
