Chest Rig, Arktis, Classic, 42 CDO, DPM, 222, User Mods, Used

Description

Original ‘Arktis’ brand Chest Rig in DPM

Purchased by the MOD directly from Arktis for use in Northern Ireland

Seen in use with Pathfinder Platoon and UKSF, in use with 22 SAS during both Gulf Wars, and the SBS on operations in Afghanistan

Popular with Royal Marine Commandos and Airborne forces, used on OP’s TELIC & HERRICK

This is the classic ’42 Commando’ design, 3 central ammunition pouches and a larger utility pouch at each end, slip pocket behind these

Ammo pouches accommodate up to 3x 30 round 5.56mm or 2x 20 round 7.62mm magazines each

Utility pouch will hold the UK issue 2 pint bottle with a little space to spare

Slip pockets behind the utilities, we’re told these were used for Cougar radio carriage

Main body of this chest rig provides a large document / map pocket, press studded access to this

We’ve also seen this inside pocket used to fit padding to the rig, cut a section of roll mat to size and fit it inside; this protects your ribs from the contents if you’re not wearing armour

All pouches with Velcro closures, this model is lighter in weight than the PLCE issue item

Adjustable strap & buckle closures have been hand sewn to the first two ammunition pouches on the right side as worn

Various cuts made ion the shoulders straps, most likely as cable / antenna guides or as mic’ hangers, these have been hand sewn closed

UK DPM

‘Old School’ style no longer available from the manufacturer and perfect for that Ally Old Sweat look.

Condition is used and clearly so. Faded and worn,  sound, and fit for use, previous user marks in ink on the shoulder straps and back
