Conditions of Use

The following notes form part of our terms & conditions, as do the notes on carriage, shipping, payments and returns published elsewhere on this site, to which customers agree when creating an account or placing an order. 

By placing an order or creating an account with Kit Monster, individuals agree to receive email updates from us regarding orders. We do not operate an emailing list, but reserve the option to send emails relating to this site, individuals you may decline to receive such emails at any time, please make such requests by email. We promise not to sell or disclose your details or data to any other person or organisation outside those required by our operation, such as our carriers.

The presence of a listing on our site is not a guarantee of availability. All items are offered subject to availability and placing an order is not a guarantee of supply. Should an item be unavailable any payments made for that item will be refunded. Refunds will be completed within 21 days of initial order. Kit Monster will not be liable for any additional costs or claims relating to unavailable items. Nor will Kit Monster be liable for any costs or claims relating to delayed or non-delivered orders beyond the value of those orders or related delivery charges.

To purchase knives, sharps, or fire lighting equipment you must be over 18 years of age and declare yourself so, false declaration is an offence. Additional photographic evidence of proof of age for orders including such items will be required prior to dispatch and on delivery, we will request this proof as an order update email, and orders will not be dispatched until this has been received. Proof of age documents we accept are Driving Licence (photo’ card), passport, government ID including warrant card or MOD 90 ID card. In the interests of confidentiality & data protection we do not retain these images, but may record the last digits of serial numbers from these documents.

We reserve the right to refuse the sale of such items if we are in any doubt as to the age of the buyer and may record instances of such refused orders. At Kit Monster we take our social and legal responsibilities seriously. And we take care to adhere to the relevant legislation, in particular the following extract from The Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006

‘It is an offence to sell to any person under 18 any knife, knife blade. It is also an offence to sell to any person under 18 any other similar item, which is made or adapted for use for causing injury to a person.

It is an offence to market a knife in such a way that suggests it is suitable for combat or otherwise encourage behaviour involving the use of the knife as a weapon.’

Purchasers and users of items supplied by us, including but not limited to; knives, sharps, body armour, protective equipment, rope, cordage, medical, survival and fire lighting equipment are responsible for their own actions, and use such items at their own risk. Kit Monster cannot accept any responsibility for any prosecutions or proceedings brought or instituted against any person or body as a result of the use or misuse of anything we supply or any injury, damage or loss caused thereby.

For the purposes of this notice ‘sharps’ refers to any item with a sharp edge or point.

UK law restricts where and how we may send knives or other bladed articles for delivery.

Customers purchasing bladed items must ensure that when delivered these cannot be received or accessed by anyone under 18 at the delivery address; proof of age will be required on delivery. Consignments containing such items may not be left secure or delivered to neighbours or other alternative addresses. We are also required by law to mark the package as containing a bladed article. We usually maintain a policy of customer confidentiality, but such external marking is part of the legislation.

Prices, Descriptions and Images

We will do our utmost to maintain prices, however we do reserve the right to alter these without prior notice.

We also reserve the right to change, without notification, due to unforeseen circumstances, availability, product improvements or design changes, the specifications of items.

All weights and measurements are approximate.

All photography, text and other content is subject to copyright and remains the property of Kit Monster. No part of this web site may be reproduced or copied without our written consent.

Please note that colour reproduction in photography may vary slightly from the actual item, lighting conditions, image processing, camera and screen settings may very between products and users, these factors are beyond our control.

In some cases additional items have been included in photographs for purposes of scale or illustration; these items are not included unless specified.

We further reserve the right to change our carriage terms and details without prior notification. Discounts, when offered, must be taken at the time of ordering and will not be given retrospectively.

All stock is new unless otherwise stated, new condition is not a guarantee of packaging, labels or tags, as many of our suppliers do not use such items.

‘Grade one’ means used but still in good condition, with no major repairs and plenty of an item’s working life left. Such items will show clear signs of use, may have previous user mars and may benefit from cleaning. All used food & water related items should be thoroughly cleaned before use. 

‘Super Grade’ items have been issued, and previously owned but barely used, such items may show minor signs of light use, transit or storage, and may bear previous user or stores markings.

‘Surplus’ items have been purchased from government disposal agents, or other traders, and are new or near new. Items are described ‘new surplus’ may show signs of transit and have storage marks, but are otherwise unused; such items are unlikely to have packaging of tags.

Reviews

Customers accept that by writing reviews of goods that they are agreeing to their names being attributed to their comments and appearing on this website. No other personal details will be published. On rare occasions reviews may be edited before publication. Customers further accept that their opinions, views and comments are theirs to post, and remain their own. Those views, opinions and comments may not be the same as those held by Kit Monster, and cannot be attributed to us.

The name Kit Monster is registered as a trade mark.
