Kit Monster started trading in 2003 but began decades before with our founder Dominic dragging his family and friends into every surplus shop and military event he could find.
It was never about buttons and medals; it was all about field kit and especially webbing. Back then 58 pattern cotton webbing was the standard, with 44 pattern items added for the cool kids; custom kit was a rare beast. A near obsessive interest in load carrying kit was only increased by years in a light role infantry battalion and learning first-hand the difference the right kit could make.
Kit Monster set out with a simple plan, only stock what we would use ourselves, if we wouldn’t take an item into the field we wouldn’t offer it to our customers.
With a unique combination of military and retail experience we understand what our customers need and want, we know the kit that works and how to deliver that to the end user. Now, more than twenty years later we’re still here, we’ve learnt a great deal, met some incredible people and made great friends; from collectors to regular soldiers and reservists, Tier One operators and the UK’s leading outdoor expert. With customers across the world, we’ve moved some great kit, and our focus has narrowed from general army surplus to the harder to find items and designs exclusive to us.
But this isn’t all about us, it’s about you too. To the people who’ve supported us, put faith in us, chosen us to equip them.
To the war fighters and warriors, those who answer the call, those who stand ready in the darkness and say ‘send me’. To the soldiers and adventurers, to our friends, colleagues and customers; thank you, we wouldn’t be here without you.
