Adventure Lights ‘Guardian Mockingbird’ personal IR IFF ID Strobe/beacon.

As issued for OP HERRICK and seen in use all over theatre by UK forces.

The Mockingbird is essential kit for night operations, allowing commanders and Close Air Support to keep track of friendly forces.

This is the UK issued Infrared model and is invisible to the naked eye.

Supplied complete with 42 x 2cm, length adjustable elastic strap with quick release buckle.

Simple twist on/off feature.

Up to 250 hours of operational light per set of batteries.

Lifetime LED, rated for 100,000 hours of use.

These require 2 x CR2032 batteries, these are not included. These batteries are readily available from public retail sources.

Operates in extreme temperatures, these function at -40c and up to +50c.

Purchased as surplus, and sold as such. Supplied in original bags, these are dusty from storage, contents are new. These are ‘new old stock’, and while unused the batteries (if supplied) will be out of date.

Kit Monster Tip: If fitted to a helmet without cover, or high cut models, such as the MICH, MACH 1 or Gen Tex, the band can be prone to slipping. Such slipping is likely to result in loss of the Mockingbird beacon. To prevent this remove the band and fit a short length of Velcro in its place, glue the other side of the Velcro to the helmet and the Mockingbird beacon is secure. This would also work with fabric helmet covers, clothing and other equipment, and looks ‘well ally’.
